Beverly Hawkinson

Beverly (Rhoads) Hawkinson, 73, of Rochester, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 13, 2017 at Rochester Rehabilitation and Living Center, following a brief illness. Beverly Bev was born July 12, 1943 in Ottumwa, IA to Ward and Doris (Lohrenz) Rhoads. Bev married Max Hawkinson in 1962 and they later divorced. Max and Bev were blessed with three children, Todd (Lynne) Hawkinson of Ballwin, MO, Craig Hawkinson of Duluth, MN and Michelle (Scott) Vermeersch of Rochester; four grandchildren, Tyler Vermeersch, Christian Vermeersch, Kyle Hawkinson and Sarah Hawkinson. Bev later married Robert Beyer and they also divorced. She is also survived by her sister, Vivian (Fred) Welch of Oconomowoc, WI. Bev was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Lisa Vermeersch, her parents and by both her former husbands. Bev graduated from Fremont High School in Fremont, IA and then went on to graduate from AIB Business College in Des Moines, IA. She worked as a secretary for numerous companies over her career, including RCTC for over 18 years. Bev loved to do jigsaw puzzles, cooking, sewing, fishing, reading and watching NASCAR. She also loved her two cats, Zoe and Josie. Bevs life will be celebrated from 1:00-4:00 PM on Sunday, May 21, 2017 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes, 5421 Royal Place NW, Rochester, with an informal service beginning at 3:00 PM.
