Betty Rose Badger, age 81, of Rochester, Minnesota, passed away on February 23, 2014.Betty was a devoted wife and proud mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to all who knew her. She was born in Albert Lea, Minnesota, on March 1, 1932, to the late Lucile and Russell Thompson.Betty graduated from Rochester High School.She married the late David Lloyd Badger in June 5, 1964.The family attended Zumbro Lutheran Church.Bettys worked at Marquette Bank, Badger Sewer & Water, AIC and the Northgate Driving School. Betty was actively involved in the Rochester chapter of Beta Sigma Phi, Red Hat Society, Rochester Garden Club, and Widowed Persons Services.She was also active in the Korean War Veteran Club Ladieswith her friend, Lyle Lubahn.Betty was an avid reader, bridge player and also enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking, and planning events for her family, friends and organizations. She is survived by her children:David (Susan) Badger, Lewisville, Texas; Paulette Lewis, Austin; Jeffrey Badger, Rochester; Layton (Patricia) Badger, Mantorville; Brent Badger, Rochester; and daughter-in-law, Jean Badger.She was also survived by grandchildren:Ramie, Brandon, Adam, Drew, Brooke, Samantha, Megan, Grant, Tobet and Thunderhawk.Great-Grandchildren included:Emory, Genevieve, Natalie, Owen, Lillianna and Akwit. Betty is also survived by her sisters:Darlene Adler, Rochester; and Judy Zimmerman, Rochester.She was preceded in death by her husband, David Lloyd Badger; and children Linda Badger Gutierrez, Daniel Badger; and her parents, Lucille and Russell Thompson, and sibling Joan and Roger Thompson. A visitation will be held at Ranfranz Funeral Home on Friday, February 28, from 5-7pm.Funeral services will take place at 11:00am on Saturday at Zumbro Lutheran Church.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Bettys honor to the National Stroke Association.
