Betty M. Borgwardt

Betty Mae Borgwardt, age 91, of Rochester, formerly of Mankato and St. Cloud, died on Wednesday, April 5, 2017, at Madonna Towers in Rochester surrounded by her family. The memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Home 5421 Royal Place NW Rochester, MN. The visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. The inurnment will be in Eagle Lake Cemetery in Eagle Lake, MN at a later date. Betty Mae Compton was born on November 2, 1925, to Guy and Bernice (Hasselfeldt) Compton in Eagle Lake, MN. She graduated from Mankato High School. On November 23, 1943, she married Verlyn Dale Borgwardt in St. Clair, MN. They lived in Eagle Lake, St. Cloud, and moved to their East Battle Lake home in Henning, MN. They later moved to Rochester. Betty was a homemaker taking care of her children, Linda and Ronald. She enjoyed fishing and bowling. Betty was very active in church where she volunteered for many things. She was dedicated to her family and was known for being very caring and loving. Betty is survived by her daughter, Linda (Art) Hemmesch of Rochester; grandchildren, Scott (Gina) Hemmesch, Jeff (Carin) Hemmesch, Dale Borgwardt, Sandra (Craig) Tackett and Rebecca (Kyle) Sedam; great-grandchildren, Olivia Service, Jacob and Brian Hemmesch, Rebecca and Joshua Hemmesch, Ryan Tackett, Breckon and Owen Sedam,and Derrick andMichael Borgwardt. Betty is preceded in death by her husband Verlyn Dale who died in 2007; son, Ronald Borgwardt; and her parents.
