Betty Boelter, age 92, of Rochester died on Tuesday, July 14, 2015, at Samaritan Bethany on Eighth. The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday July 20, 2015, at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes in Rochester. The visitation will be from 10:30 11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. The burial will be in Grandview Memorial Gardens. Memorials are preferred to the Mayo Foundation. Betty Jean Vermilya was born on October 29, 1922, in Little Valley Township, Olmsted County, to Irvin and Mary (Bateman) Vermilya. She graduated from Plainview High School. Betty worked for the Cooperative Oil Company in Rochester for over 25 years. On September 13, 1956, she married Wayne W. Boelter, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA. They moved to Elgin where Wayne worked for the local Post Office and later moved to the Rochester location until his retirement. They enjoyed boating, fishing, and gardening. Wayne died in August 2006. Betty is survived by her nieces and nephews, Jackie Fleming of Rosemont, Jim (Candy) Trapp of Plymouth, Judy (Paul) Arnesen of St. Cloud, Kathryn Sandbulte of Altoona, IA, Peter (Rhonda) Boelter of Dodge Center, Jim (Susan) Vermilya of St. Charles, and Janith (Jim) Jacobson of Howard Lake; many great and great-great-nieces and nephews. Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne; brother, Hugh Vermilya and sister, Dotty Trapp.
