Bertha Hoffman

Bertha H. Hoffman, age 92, passed away Tuesday, August 6, 2024 at St. Therese Care Center in Brooklyn Park, MN.

Bertha Helen Hoffman was born on June 2, 1932 in Merricourt, ND the daughter of John and Emily (Schnik) Middlestead. She married Fred C. Hoffman on September 9, 1949 in Aberdeen, SD. Bertha worked as a seamstress at the Arrow Shirt Factory in Virginia, MN for 16 years. In 2004, Bertha and Fred moved to Grand Meadow, MN. Fred passed away on February 19, 2008.

Bertha enjoyed cooking, crafting, sewing, gardening, fishing, dancing, bingo, reading, and was an avid MN Twins fan. Bertha was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church and Moose Lodge in Aurora, MN.

She is survived by her four children, Lee (Jan) Hoffman of Brooklyn Park, MN, Roger (Kathy) Hoffman of Virginia, MN, Nikki (Mark) Lieffring of Blaine, MN, Jerry (Brenda) Hoffman of Grand Meadow, MN; seven grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; extended family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Hoffman, her parents John and Emily Middlestead and her twelve siblings.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Monday, August 12, 2024 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes 5421 Royal Place NW, Rochester, MN. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be at Grand Meadow Cemetery, Grand Meadow, MN.
