Bernadine "Bunny" B. Grabbe

Bernadine "Bunny" (Sobrek) Grabbe Bernadine Grabbe, 90, of Rochester passed away on Wednesday, March 6, 2019, at Edenbrook of Rochester Nursing Home. A memorial service will be at 2:00 pm, Saturday, March 16, at Ranfranz & Vine Funeral Homes, 5421 Royal Place N.W. , Rochester. Visitation will be from 1:00 pm until time of service. Celebrant will be Father Russell Scepaniak, with inurnment at Oakwood East Cemetery. Bunny was born in the Owatonna area on January 22, 1929 to Louis and Amelia (Rysavy) Sobrek. She attended Jefferson Grade School, graduating from Owatonna High School in 1947. After high school, Bunny worked at Federated Mutual Insurance Company for a number of years before leaving the Owatonna area. She lived in Iowa and Illinois before returning to the Owatonna area, eventually settling in Rochester. Bunny married Harland "Bud" Grabbe at the Little Brown Church in Iowa on November 28, 1970. He passed away March 21, 2013. Bunny enjoyed many years working in sales and window dressing in Rochester specialty shops, including the Casual Shop. She enjoyed attending antique festivals, which showed in the way she furnished their home. Flower gardening and taking care of their yard were also favorite past times. Bunny is survived by one sister, Rose Hoffman, Owatonna, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, two brothers, Lawrence and Eugene Sobrek, and two sisters, Elaine Johnson and Millie Pauba.
