Bea Sandefur, 95, of Rochester, passed away March 31st, 2017. She died peacefully surrounded by family at St. Marys Hospital . She had previously presided at the Golden Living Center for four years. Bea was born June 16, 1921 in Rochester to Bert and Dasie Wallace, where she enjoyed her childhood and graduated from Central High School. Bea met her first husband , Kenneth Karau, during high school years, and they were married April 8, 1939. They raised six children and were married for 37years until Kenneths death in 1976. Bea later married Herb Sandefur, and moved to Herbs mountain side home near Frenchtown, Montana. She enjoyed her years in Montana until Herbs death , she then came back to Rochester to spend the later years of her life with family and friends. Bea had a lot of pleasure raising her six children, and spending summer weekends at their place on the point in Lake City with the family. Bingo and card playing were favorites of hers, and she also enjoyed traveling, especially visiting Europe. She worked at Waters Conley Company, and also Michaels Restaurant for many years. Bea is survived by one brother John (Grace) Wallace from Rochester. Also six children, Sherry Steele, Stewartville, Sandra (Dale) Craft, Rochester, Steven (Kay) Karau, Byron, Mary (Bill) Bowman, Lake City, Julie (Gary) Berge, Rochester and Brenda (Gary) Gilbertson, Mantorville. Bea is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 6 great grandkids. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bert and Dasie Wallace, first husband Kenneth Karau, second husband Herb Sandefur, brothers Clifford (Buck) Wallace and Herbert Wallace, and also sisters Beverly Wallace, Shirley Kranz and Esther Keehn. A memorial service will be held at the Ranfranz Funeral Home in Rochester on Tuesday, April 4th, at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Luke Nelson officiating. Friends and family are invited for visitation one hour prior to the service. In honor of Beas life, memorials may be directed to American Cancer Society, The American Heart Association, Alzheimers Dementia Association or charity of your choice.
