Barbara Jean Moe. After a long and courageous battle with "The Big C", she went to her heavenly home at 10:40 a.m. on July 6, 2018 at Methodist Hospital. Being a very feisty person with lots of spunk, she fought it to the end. Born in Albert Lea, MN on August 8, 1944 to Milford and Milly Larson. At the age of 15 she had open heart surgery. She graduated from Northwest Institute in Minneapolis. She took over a hospital lab in North Dakota where she met her husband of 52 years. She later went to work at the Mayo Clinic. She was united in marriage to Allen Moe in Albert Lea on April 23, 1966. They were blessed in 1973 with their son, Erik. Barbie then stepped away from the medical profession and later she went to work for OMC Hospital from which she retired. She loved animals which was attested to by the many pets over the years. She caught a 14 pound Northern and loved car and boat rides and picnics. She was extremely proud of Erik, Brenda and Alanna's accomplishments along with her cousin, Tricia Schilling. She was a very organized person and was the Moe house spark plug. She is preceded in death by her parents and other relatives. She is survived by her husband, Allen, son, Erik (Brenda Nygren-Moe); granddaughter, Alanna; sister, Sharon (Frank) Holway and nieces and nephews. A heartfelt thanks to all who participated in her care in any manner.
