Barbara Joan Ecklund

STEWARTVILLE, MINN:Barbara J. Ecklund, 71, died at her home on Sunday, November 17, 2013. Barbara Joan Butturff was born April 23, 1942 to Lloyd and Minnie (Twentyman) Butturff in Rochester, MN. Barbara lived in Sargeant, MN and graduated from Hayfield High School. She married Roger Ecklund on January 29, 1960 in Sargeant, MN. Barbara worked for the City of Rochester in the Building and Safety Department for many years. She lived in the Stewartville area for over fifty years and was a very active member in the Racine United Methodist Church. Barbara enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and traveling with the family. Barbara is survived by her two children, Darlya (Michael) Mathews, St. Anthony, MN, and Gordon (Tammy) Ecklund, Cannon Falls, MN; her four grandchildren, Jessica (Nathan) Kuisle, Stewartville, MN, Jordan (Madeline) Ecklund, Rochester, MN, Erin Mathews, St. Anthony, MN and Tobias Mathews, St. Anthony, MN; one great-grandchild, Gannon Kuisle; a sister Linda (Chuck) Willihnganz, Rochester, MN; two brothers, Richard (Barb) Butturff, Elgin, MN and Brian (Julie) Butturff, Menomonie Falls, WI. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two brothers. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 21, 2013 at Racine United Methodist Church. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. on Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Home and one hour before the service at the church. Burial will be in Hamilton Cemetery, Racine, MN. Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association or Racine United Methodist Women.
