Barbara Ann Ferguson

Barbara A. Ferguson, 86, of Rochester, MN died Tuesday, August 18, 2020 at Cottagewood Senior Communities. She did not succumb to COVID-19, she died of an aneurysm. Barbara Ann (Brown) was born October 12, 1933 to Peter and Ella (Hansen) Brown in Rochester, MN. She graduated from Rochester High School and Rochester Jr. College. She was a medical secretary at the Mayo Clinic for 8 years and she was office manager at Richard Plunkett Law office and trust officer for the Rochester Bank (now Minnwest). She was active in the legal secretary association and helped organize the legal assistant program now taught. She taught baton and dance at her studio for many years. She was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church. Barbara is survived by three children, Tom (Debra) Ferguson of Rochester, MN, Sue (Ken) Simon of Rochester, MN and Bill (Sue) Ferguson of St. Louis Park, MN; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a brother, Bill (Mary Lou) Brown of Boulder, CO. She was preceded in death by her parents; a husband, Donald; one son, Mike; four sisters, Marcella, Peggy, Lois, Donna Mae; and two brothers, Bob and Milo. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Cottagewood Senior Communities. A Funeral Service was held on Friday, August 21, 2020 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes.
