Barbara Ann Amundson was born on November 27, 1932, the second child of George and Myrtle (Berven) Anderson, in Swift County, MN. She died on Thursday, July 21, 2016 at the age of 83. Barbara attended school in Montevideo, Fergus Falls, and Henning Minnesota. She graduated from Lake Park High School in 1950. After graduation, she worked in Minneapolis as a telephone operator for the telephone company. She married Lloyd Amundson in September 1951. They lived in Rochester, MN for ten years and Omaha, NE for one year. The family then moved to Worthington, MN where she was a homemaker and part time teller at the State Bank of Worthington which was owned by her husband and two partners. Barbara designed and supervised the building of their home on West Leaf Lake in 1971. Her years have been spent between her home at the Lake and Maui. In Barbaras finals days she spoke of her love for her friends and family, especially her husband Lloyd of 65 years. They had two children, 6 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren who knew her as their beloved grandma Tutu. Barbara was a phenomenal golfer who had 5 holes in one. She was a strong, beautiful and wonderful woman and will be greatly missed. Memorial service will be held on Monday, July 25, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Edwards Catholic Church in Henning, MN with Pastor Keith Lankford officiating. The visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Services are being held at the Catholic Church due to construction at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.
