Avis Dianne Hamson, 71, of Rochester, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 21, 2017 at Willows and Waters Senior Living. Avis was born December 26, 1945 in Albert Lea, MN to Norris and Alma (Dybvad) Erickson. She attended church services at the Salvation Army. Avis is survived by her children, Denise (Michael) Urmann of Roseville, MN, Daniel Hamson of Rochester; 3 grandchildren; Andraya (Joseph) Perron, Lauren and Isabel Urmann; sisters, Marlene (Harold) Apley of Lake City, Dee (Ozzy) Osmundson of Albert Lea and by her brother, Robert (Carol) Erickson of Texas. Avis was preceded in death by her brother, Norlyn Erickson. A celebration of Aviss life will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at the Salvation Army, 20 1st Ave. NE. Rochester, MN 55906 with Major Paulette officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army.
