Arlene Evelyn Ferschweiler

Arlene E. Ferschweiler, 94, of Rochester, MN died Thursday, July 14, 2011 at Seasons Hospice. Arlene Evelyn Bateman was born July 18, 1916 in Spring Valley, MN to Howard and Gertrude (Loucks) Bateman.She married Leo Ferschweiler on September 22, 1937.She enjoyed the outdoors, crocheting, music, and her grandchildren. She was an avid reader and loved traveling with her sister.She lived and worked in LaCrosse, WI where she met her friend Howard Putman.They spent many hours fishing, boating, and traveling. Arlene is survived by her children, Sandra (Buzz) Holloway of Rochester, Barbara (Roger) Gardner of Clarksville, TN, and Lynn (Bette) Ferschweiler of Rochester; eight grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; and one brother, Lyle (Marion) Bateman of Stewartville, MN.She was preceded in death by her husband; two sisters; and one brother. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 16, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 512 - 3rd St SW, Rochester, MN with the Reverend Jay Rowland officiating.A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church.Burial will be in Frankford Cemetery, Grand Meadow, MN. Memorials are reguested to the Frankford Cemetery.
