Anthony Benassi

Anthony Roger Benassi, "Tony", 55, of Rochester, passed away August 16th, 2018 at his home. Tony was born December 3, 1962 in Minneapolis to Robert and Rita (Nolan) Benassi. He was a 1981 graduate of John Marshall High School. Once an avid camper, he greatly enjoyed the outdoors and motorcycles. He was a huge lover of all animals, being especially fond of his cat Voodoo. His earlier hobbies included drawing, re-finishing furniture, wood-carving and gardening. Throughout his life he had a great passion for The Rolling Stones. He was smart and quick witted with an infectious laugh. While at times difficult to understand, at his core he was gentle and sensitive. Tony is survived by his daughters, Shalise (Mitch) Klebel of Tetonia, ID, Brittany (Matthew Holden) Benassi of Fayetteville, N.C.; grandchildren Shyloh, Cayden, Leif and Liv Klebel; sister, Dana Benassi Leach; brothers, David Benassi, Pete Benassi and seven nieces and nephews. Tony was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Rita, and his brother, Michael. A memorial service will be held 11:00am Friday, September 7, 2018 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes, 5421 Royal Place NW, Rochester. Interment will be at Oakwood Cemetery.
