Anne Helen Cole, 82, beloved mother and grandmother passed away peacefully at her home in Rochester on September 24, 2021 surrounded by her family. She was born on March 9, 1939 in Oakville, Ontario Canada to Stephen and Florence Sharpe. In 1962 she emigrated to the United States and made her home in California. On June 1, 1963 she married Darwin A. Cole. On June 21, 1974 she became a U.S. citizen. They lived in Los Angeles and San Jose, California before moving to Rochester in 1978. Anne worked for the Rochester Public Schools for 18 years as an aide and in business services. She was a member of Mount Olive Lutheran Church since 1999. Anne enjoyed traveling with her husband, gardening, spending time with her grandsons and cheering on her beloved Toronto Maple Leafs. Anne is survived by her son Mark (Anastasia) and daughter Laura Hamlen, both of Rochester; six grandsons; two brothers, Brian (Valerie) of Barrie, Ontario Canada and Quentin (Donna) of Kitchener, Ontario Canada and two sisters, Jean Downey of Waterloo, Ontario Canada and Joan (Warren) Graham of Regina, Saskatchewan Canada. She was preceded in death by her parents, spouse and brother Dennis. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 2, 2021 at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church. Visitation will be from 5-7pm Friday, October 1, 2021 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes (5421 Royal Pl NW, Rochester, MN) and one hour before the memorial service. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Rochester, MN, at a later date.
