ORONOCO, MINN: Ann L. Bigelow, 96, of Oronoco, passed away January 1, 2012 at St. Marys Hospital. Ann was born February 21, 1915 in Long Prairie, MN to Thomas and Karn (Christianson) Froistad. Ann attended school in Long Prairie and then moved to Minneapolis for Business College. Ann married Glenn Bigelow on January 19, 1943 in New Orleans, LA and they made their home in Oronoco. Ann taught first grade through eighth grade at a country school in Oronoco Township. Ann later worked as a secretaryin the pharmacy department at Rochester Methodist Hospital, finally retiring at age 70.Ann loved being out in nature, watching the birds and taking her daily walks. She enjoyed playing 500, crossword puzzles, sudoku and taking bus trips, especially her trip to Alaska. Sheenjoyed her Tuesday morning group in later years. Ann was an amazinglady that liked to keep things in life simple. Her neighbors and friends were so dear to her and she loved spending time with them. Ann is survived by her daughter, Patricia Bigelow; daughter-in-law, Jean Bigelow; grandchildren, Tina Bigelow, Timothy Bigelow and JasonAlbers; great-grandson, Samuel Bigelow and one sister, Fern Thompson. Ann was preceded in death by her loving husband, Glenn; son, James Bigelow; 6 brothers and 5 sisters. Ann will be missed by her family and friends. A celebration and reflection of life and remembrance will be held 1:00-3:00 PM Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at New Haven Town Hall 9024 County Rd. 3 NW, Oronoco, MN 55960. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of donor's choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes, Rochester.
