Anita Y. Corson

Anita Y. Corson 93, of Rochester, MN passed away Monday, July 25, 2016 at Saint Marys Hospital. Anita Yvonne Halverson was born September 5, 1922 in Canton, MN. Anita graduated from Canton High School. During World War II she worked at the Treasury Department in Washington, D.C. She married Norman Corson on February 23, 1944 in Orlando, FL. Norman passed away in 1984. Anita worked at Sears in Rochester for over 20 years. Anita was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church in Rochester. She enjoyed raising and spending time with her family and she enjoyed playing with her cat, Tigger. Anita is survived by her sons, Norman Corson of Golden Valley, MN and Ross (Yukiko) Corson of Minneapolis, MN; daughter-in-law, Chris Gauthier of Rochester, MN; four grandchildren, Jada, Jesse, Lika, Lasse and three great grandchildren; and one sister, Neldah (Lavern) Whalen of Rochester, MN. She is preceded in death by her husband, Norman; her mother, Bessie Halverson; two sons, Craig and Scott; and a brother, Robert Franklin. There will be a memorial service on Friday, July 29, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Friday.
