Angela Mae Domaille, 89, passed away peacefully Friday, February 28, 2014 at Cottagewood Senior Communities, surrounded by her daughter Char and grandchildren from Rochester. Her daughter, Ann and her son, Mark, were able to come up to see her the week before she passed and enjoyed some good times and memories. Angela was born April 5, 1924 in Rochester to Ross and Mary (Simonds) Plonty. She was a graduate ofRochester High School. On May 21, 1944, Angela married the love of her life, Frank Domaille, after serving in the Seabees during WWII. She was a life long member of Grace Lutheran Church, first in the Mission Church on 11th Ave. NE and then at the current church at Silver Lake Drive, with Frank serving on the building committee. Angela was very active in church including teaching Sunday school for numerous years, serving on wedding and funeral committees, and was active in Lydia Circle. She enjoyed sewing, including a velvet wedding dress for one of her daughters, crossword puzzles, watching Wheel of Fortune, jigsaw puzzles, fishing and reading. Angela was an amazing cook and loved to bake. Her lemon poppyseed bread was the best ever, along with fresh baked buns and green seafoam salad. She enjoyed playing cards and belonged to a card club for 50 years, of High School friends and their husbands. Above all, Angela loved spending time with her family throughout her life and in retirement years with Ann, Pat and family in Texas and Mark, Julie and family in California. Angela is survived by her children, Ann (Patrick) Zahasky of Georgetown, TX., Charleen Domaille Wenninger of Rochester, Mark (Julie) Domaille of Whittier, CA.; grandchildren, Jeremy, Heidi, Kelly, Russell, Tammi, Cori, Bryce, Kristina, and Brad; 7 great-grandchildren; 1 great, great-grandchild, and her cousins, Bob and Bill Mayhew. Angela was raised by and lived with her Grandma Simonds, Aunt Birdie, Uncle Walt and Aunt Louise, whom all proceeded Angela in death. She is also preceded in death by her loving husband, Frank; 2 great-grandsons, Chance and Angel, and her mother, Mary Bill. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, March 8, 2014 at Grace Lutheran Church, 800 E. Silver Lake Dr. NW, Rochester. Visitation will be held 5:00-8:00 PM Friday, March 7, 2014 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes, 5421 Royal Place NW, Rochester and one hour prior to the service at the church. The Rev. Gregory Heidorn will be officiating with entombment at Grandview Memorial Gardens. Memorials are requested to the building fund at Grace Lutheran Church.
