ROCHESTER -Andrew J. Schlake, 26, died on Friday, August 2, 2013 in Two Harbors, MN. Andy was born in Rochester on March 3, 1987 to Dean and Kris (Amdahl) Schlake.He graduated from Plainview Elgin Millville High School in 2005.He then attended the Law Enforcement Program at RCTC in 2009.Andy was a correctional officer at Sandstone Federal Correctional Institution.His true passion was to pursue a career in law enforcement.He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, football, water sports, spending time outdoors, and spending time with friends and family. Andy is survived by his fiance, Jessica Onnen, of Pine City, MN; two children, Aleena and Addison; his parents, Dean and Kris, of Lake Zumbro; three siblings, Sarah Schlake, of Lake Zumbro, Justin (Tara) Schlake, of Rochester, Elizabeth (Nick Raymo) Schlake, of River Falls, WI; grandmothers, Arlene Schlake and Ruby Amdahl; two nephews, Maverick and Ashton; and a niece, Charli. Andy is preceded in death by grandfathers, Eldean Schlake and Ernest Amdahl. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, August 9, 2013 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Home.Visitation will be from 4-7 P.M. on Thursday, August 8, 2013 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Home and an hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials can be directed to Andy's family to set up a scholarship fund.
