Amy Beth Greising (nee Showalter) of Rochester, died after a brief and sudden illness on Thursday, December 5 at Saint Mary's Hospital at the age of 44. Amy was born September 25, 1975 in St. Paul, Minnesota to Sandra (Foss) and William Showalter. She spent her childhood in Alexandria, Minnesota before moving with her family to Rochester. Amy was a graduate of Rochester Mayo High School and Rochester Community & Technical College. She worked at various organizations as an administrative assistant, including The Mayo Clinic, Evangel Methodist Church, and HALCON Furniture. Amy loved being a mother, and her children, Grace and Jacob, were her biggest source of pride and the joy in her soul. She adored her extended family and was a warm and caring friend. She was funny, empathetic and compassionate. Amy enjoyed sewing beautiful creations, cooking for her children and listening to music. Her memorable laugh lifted the spirits of those around her. Amy is survived by her mother, Sandra (Foss) Showalter of Rochester; children, Grace and Jacob Greising also of Rochester; brothers, Thomas (Julie) Showalter of Menasha, Wisconsin, and Steven (Michelle) Showalter of Eagan; nephews, Colton and Charles; niece, Eleanor; family friend, Christopher Rock of Rochester, and many beloved friends. A celebration of Amy's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 14, 2019 at Evangel United Methodist Church, 2645 N Broadway Ave, Rochester. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
