Alma I Zimmerman

Rochester, MN Alma I. Zimmerman, 89, died March 24, 2014 at Meadow Lakes Senior Living in Rochester. Alma Irene Bonnett was born on June 3, 1924 in Marrietta, IL to Lester and Florence (Hutchins) Bonnett.Alma married Lloyd Zimmerman on November 28, 1942 in Lancaster, MO.They farmed for 20 years in Illinois and owned a Gamble-Skogmo Retail Store in Waterloo, WI for 19 years.They then retired in Florida for 19 years before moving to Rochester to be near their family. Alma is survived by her daughter, Barbara (Stewart) Lewis of Rochester, MN and her son, Philip (Kessara) Zimmerman of Indianapolis, IN; five grandchildren, Sheryl (Kevin) Capelle of Stewartville, MN, Michelle (Patrick) McNallan of Chanhassen, MN, Matthew Zimmerman of Indianapolis, IN, Jeremy (Sandy) Zimmerman of Indianapolis, IN and Anya Punsiri of Indianapolis, IN; five great grandchildren, David and Travis Capelle, Kierra McNallan and Alexander and Alison Zimmerman; two sisters, Louise Spalding of Pekin, IL and Melba (James) Plunkett of Dundee, IL.She was preceded in death by her parents, spouse, two sisters and one brother. A memorial service will be at 2:00pm on Saturday, April 5, 2014 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes.Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.Inurnment will be at Oakwood Cemetery at a later date. Memorials are suggested to Mayo Hospice.
