Allen Louis Casey, age 82 of Rochester passed away November 12, 2013 in Maple Manor Health Care Center where he had resided the past 15 months.Born March 11, 1931 on the family farm in Todd County near Osakis, MN to Louis & Freda (Berry) Casey.He married Shirley Kleinschmidt on November 5, 1955. Allen was well known for his musical talents and fiddle playing when he and his brothers played with several area bands in his younger years.He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and always telling a good story or two.He and Shirley enjoyed traveling to Branson, and spending time with his family was very important to him.He spent many years farming and also worked doing carpentry work, building several houses, worked on several area bridge projects and was involved in various additions at St. Marys Hospital while working with Twin City Carpenters.He was a member of the Carpenters Union and also a longtime member of Grace Lutheran Church in Oronoco.Surviving with his wife, Shirley of Rochester is a son: David Casey (Jean) of Pine Island, four grandchildren: Jeremy Casey (Allison), Nathan Casey (Megan), Amanda Casey, and Jenny Gilsdorf (Josh).Four great grandchildren: McKenna, Grace, Jacey, and Mason Allen Casey born on November 12, 2013.One brother, Roy Casey (Pauline) of Long Prarie, MN and a sister, Betsy Broselle of South Carolina.He was preceded in death by one son Randy Casey, one daughter, Karen Gilsdorf, son-in-law, Cy Gilsdorf, a grandson, Corey Gilsdorf, 2 sisters, Rosie and Evelyn, and a brother Walter. A Memorial service will be held 2 PM Saturday, November 16, 2013 at Grace Lutheran Church, 45 1st Avenue NW Oronoco, MN with visitation one hour prior to services at the church.Burial will follow in Oronoco Cemetery.Memorials appreciated to Grace Lutheran Church of Oronoco.
