Allen A. Bicknese

Allen A. Bicknese Allen Arthur Bicknese age 80 of Rochester passed away September 6, 2012 at Golden Living Center where he had resided the past few years. He was born July 29, 1932 near Fillmore, Minnesota to Arthur J. & Olive M. (Shaw) Bicknese. As a youth he attended and played basketball for Rochester Lutheran School. He worked over forty years as an attendant at Virgil's Service Station. He enjoyed attending stock car races, attending family gatherings as well as his nephews hockey games. He loved polka music and festivals and could be seen regularly at the Pla-Mor ballroom enjoying the music. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. He never married. Allen is survived by his nephew, James Bicknese (Cheryl Sayger) of Stewartville; nieces, Aune Arndt (Richard) of Hayfield and Tina Baxter (Jeffrey) of Rochester; four great nephews; and his sister-in-law, Donna Kruse of Hayfield. He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers. A Celebration of Life will be held Monday, September 10, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Golden Living Center East 501 8th Avenue SE in Rochester.Graveside services will be held 10 AM Wednesday September 12, 2012 at Fillmore Cemetery.
