ROCHESTER, MINN:Allan (A.K.) Keith Petersen, 87, died on Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at Maple Manor Nursing Home. Allan Keith Petersen was born March 16, 1927 to Magnus C. and Rosa C. (Jensen) Petersen in Denver, CO. A.K. graduated from Rochester High School in 1945. He graduated from Rochester Junior College and then from the University of Minnesota. A.K. served in the Navy during WWII. He married Joyce E. Searles on September 5, 1951 in Cresco, IA. A.K owned and operated DX service station for 20 years and then at Weber and Judd Drug Store. He enjoyed fishing, travel, casinos and cars. A.K was a member of Rochester Eagles and Elks; American Legion Post 92 and St. Francis Catholic Church all in Rochester. A.K. is survived by 2 brothers-in-law, Eugene (Elaine) Searles, Rochester, MN and Edward Searles, Rochester, MN; he is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Joyce. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 22, 2014 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes' Chapel. A visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, November 21, 2014 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Home and one hour before the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery with Military Honors. Memorials are suggested to the family.
