Ali Sameni

Ali Sameni, 59 of Rochester, MN died Monday, April 16, 2018 at the Mayo Clinic Rochester - Methodist Campus. Ali was born December 31, 1958 to Nasser Sameni and Nasrin Dadjou in Tehran, Iran. Ali grew up in Tehran and moved to Lawrence, KS in 1976. He attended the University of Kansas where he achieved his masters and was a course away from his PHD, when he was offered a job from IBM. He married Lisa Bolin on August 4, 1984 in Edina, MN. The couple lived in Rochester. Ali was employed with IBM and thoroughly enjoyed working there for 34 years. He was an avid golfer and was a member of the Eastwood Men's Club and the Rochester Athletic Club. Ali was wonder-ful, a mentor to many, a leader and everyone's biggest fan. He is survived by his wife, Lisa of Rochester, MN; two sons, Aria (Rachel) Sameni of Eden Prairie, MN and Ramin Sameni of Rochester, MN; his mother, Nasrin Dadjou of Tehran, Iran; two grand-daughters, Lucia and Noelle; two sisters, Mitra (Khosrow) and Ladan; and two brothers, Amir and Mani. He was preceded in death by his father. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at Rochester Assembly Church (4240 18th Avenue NW). Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Friday, April 20, 2018 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes and one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church. Burial will take place at Oakwood East Cemetery.
