Alfred Laverne Thedens

Alfred LaVerne Thedens, 90, of Rochester passed away on May 14, 2020 at the Waters in Rochester. He was born on November 30, 1929 in Potsdam, MN to Henry and Clara (Wanke) Thedens. Alfred attended Rural District #110 school, as did his father and farmed in the Potsdam area. On September 25, 1949 he married Ursula Wacker at the First Presbyterian Church in Rochester. He served on the local school board as the Clerk. He was a member of the Eagles and an active member of his church. He enjoyed dancing and old-time music. Survivors include his wife, Ursula; daughter, Linda (Glenn) Zarling of Plainview, MN and his son, Mike (Connie) Thedens of Elgin, MN; six grandchildren Andrew Thedens, Patrick Thedens, Lucas Thedens, Matthew Zarling, Erin Peterson and Erica Chapman; and ten great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters and one brother. The family will have a private visitation at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes. Private burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Rochester.
