Alan Edward Richardson

A funeral service for Alan E. Richardson, 72, of Rochester, MN will be at 2:00pm on Friday, July 26, 2013 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Home with the Rev. Mike Wuehler officiating.Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery at a later date.Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Alan Edward Richardson, a beloved son, brother, father, uncle and great uncle was born on February 18, 1941 in Rochester, MN to Robert and Marian (Lenton) Richardson.He died on July 20, 2013 following complications of a four month illness. Alan received a Business Administration degree from Winona State University in Winona, MN and he served in the Army National Guard from 1965-1971. In May of 1968 he married Carol Wehrs in Elgin, MN and was later divorced.Alan worked in purchasing for Crenlo, AFC in Chatfield, MN and McNeilus in Dodge Center, MN.After he retired, he thoroughly enjoyed working as a shuttle driver for Country Inn and Suites. He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church and enjoyed the Minnesota sports teams, golfing, tennis and bowling.He also had a love for nature.He enjoyed woodcarving and the arts and music, and was a past member of the Chatfield Brass Band. Survivors include his daughter, Chrissy (Rod) Haworth of Rochester, MN; two grandchildren, Andrew and Olivia Haworth, both of Rochester, MN; parents, Robert (Marian) Richardson of Mahtomedi, MN formerly of Rochester, MN; sister, Jan (John) Lillie of Dellwood, MN; loving nieces and nephews; and special friend, Rose VanKirk of Spring Valley, MN.He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
