Agustina Flores Romero

Agustina Flores-Lopez Romero, 60, of Rochester, MN passed away at her family's home on Tuesday, September 12, 2017. Agustina was born on August 28, 1957 in Valle Hermoso, Tamaulipas, Mexico to the late Herlinda Lopez and Faustino Flores. Agustina grew up in Mexico for the majority of her childhood, later becoming a migrant worker, and then met Ruben Romero, which she eventually married. They then moved to Hoopeston, Illinois and began their family. Agustina wanted a home filled with love and laughter, so she became a domestic engineer/homemaker for her five children. In 1980, the family moved to Rochester, MN, where Agustina continued to take care of her family and also graduated from college with her Human Service Technician degree. Agustina thoroughly enjoyed and took pleasure in working with her hands. She did an assortment of crafts throughout her life - such as blanket, doll, and jewelry making, drawing and sketching, as well as, sowing a variety of items/projects. She also had a "Green Thumb" and loved gardening, potting, and planting flowers. "Green Life" surrounded her in the manner of vibrant displays of beautiful plants and flowers, both inside and outside of her home. Agustina's passion and delight were certainly her family. She relished the opportunity to serve them in any manner they may have had or needed. She savored the chance to cook for her family and made sure that everyone always had a meal or at least something to eat. She adored family gatherings, everything about them, but mostly her role as story teller because the room often ended up being filled with her family's laughter. Laughter was her hallmark! Agustina is survived by her brothers, Refugio, Domingo, Faustino Jr, her sisters, Irene, Rosa, Catalina, Magdalena, Maria, Herlinda, Dolores, and Christina. Agustina is also survived by her son, Ruben (and his wife Jennifer) Romero, Jr. of Kasson, MN; daughters, Linda Romero, Cindy Romero, Heidi Romero, and Heather Romero, all of Rochester, MN; and thirteen grandchildren.
