Agnes Virginia Valvik was born in New York City to Thomas and Olga Valvik on February 24, 1924. She attended NYC public schools, and graduated from Mission High School in San Francisco in 1942. She graduated from Augsburg College in 1947. Agnes married Calvin Larson in New York City on August 23, 1947. They lived in Minneapolis, MN, Gardner, Il, Eleva, WI, Menomonie, Wi, and Oshkosh, WI, before retiring to the Twin Cities, MN. In addition to her "career" as the wife of a pastor, she worked as a psychiatric social worker in the Wisconsin state hospital system. Her interests were music, travel, and crafts. Agnes and Calvin raised four children and she has resided in Rochester, MN for the past two years. Agnes died in Rochester on January 4, 2018. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cal, her parents, Thomas and Olga Valvik, brother Tom Valvik and his wife Charlotte. She is survived by children: Linda Larson (Jerry Sells), Ruth (Jim) Moes, Dan (Debbie) Larson, and Karin (Greg) Monson; grandchildren: Nick Moes (Alyse Morris-Moes), Matthew Monson, Anna Moes (Joel Benjamin), Kirsten (Jeff) Selby, Greta (Jack) Watkins, Joshua Larson, John Calvin Larson; great-grandchildren: Joy Selby, Jenny Selby, Alyssa Watkins; and seven nieces and nephews. Services will be held Saturday, Jan 6, at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Home in Rocester, beginning with visitation at 9:30 am, service at 10:30 am, and luncheon to follow.
