A spirited individual, Agnes Lillian Ziz Mosing of Golden Living Center East Rochester, passed away peacefully January 1, 2015, just 47 days shy of her 100th birthday.Agnes Paulson was born February 17, 1915 in Stewartville, MN.As an infant she moved to Rochester to live with Fred and Leona Zierath, her uncle and aunt.She graduated in 1932 from Rochester High School where she met her husband William Bill Mosing.Bill and Ziz were married June 12, 1933 in Nerstrand, MN.The two of them would spend a lifetime working together, traveling the world and raising 2 children. Their professional lives began with the Mosing Engraving Service and evolved into the Mosing Studio.She would write the copy for the photos he took during a 28-year affiliation with the Rochester Post Bulletin.The Mosing Studio would be one of the first in SE MN to take color wedding and high school senior photos.During this time she would manage the office and a host of other customer service responsibilities until their retirement in 1980.An amateur artist in her own right, she enjoyed crochet, painting and photography and was a member of the Rochester Artist Group.A long time member of the Phi Sigma Alpha sorority, she was their 1971 Woman of the Year. Early in their marriage, Ziz and Bill began traveling the world together.Not wanting to be far from her husband during his training in the Army, she followed to Alabama and California. Later, they would make more than 45 trips to winter in Mexico and participate in artist groups.Other world travels included: Guatemala, Yugoslavia, Pakistan and Afghanistan. Besides her artistic side, she was known for her frugality.One of her favorite stories to tell related to saving $8.The family car needed new tires and the garage wanted to charge $2 a wheel to replace the hubcaps.Rather than pay what she felt was highway robbery, she went into the garage, picked up the rubber mallet and put them on herself while wearing her mink coat. She is survived by: her daughter Billie Jeanne Oliver (FL), daughter in law Judy Mosing (FL), 6 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren and untold nieces and nephews.She is proceeded in death by: her husband William E. Mosing, her son Richard (Dick) Mosing, her son in law Donald Oliver, a great grandson Kevin Harris, her brother Elmer Paulson and sister in law Alice Paulson. A memorial service is pending for spring.Memorials can be made to Heartland Hospice Care of Rochester.Cremated remains will be interned at Oakwood Cemetery.
