Agnes Grosland, 92, passed away at Saint Marys Hospital on Sunday, August 7, 2016 after a long and blessed life. Agnes was born on February 13, 1924 in rural St. Ansgar, Iowa to Mathias and Agatha (Mauer) May. Agnes married Tilman Grosland at St. Joseph Catholic Church on February 9, 1946. They made their home in Mason City, Iowa. Agnes was a wonderful homemaker, wife, mother, and grandmother. She was well known for her cooking, especially her cookies, jams, and pies. She enjoyed playing the organ, fishing, singing, travel trailer camping with the Wigwam and Wagon club, doing crossword puzzles, and playing cards. She was a selftaught artist and loved painting. Agnes was equal parts sweet and feisty. She had endless love and patience for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. After Tilmans death in 1999, Agnes moved to Real Life Cooperative in Rochester where she lived independently until her death. She leaves her family with countless cherished memories and will be greatly missed. Agnes is survived by her son Steven (Deborah) Grosland of Rochester three grandchildren, Lynn Freesemann of Elgin, Illinois. Amy (Brian) Meade of Rochester, Michael (Manar) Grosland of Orlando, Florida and five great grandchildren, Colin, Chloe, Hannah, Leah, and Yasmin. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother, and four sisters. A funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, August 12, 2016 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes 5421 Royal Place NW Rochester, MN. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 10:30 to 11:30 Friday at Ranfranz and Vine. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
